Humayun's Tomb

The city of Delhi, an ancient seat of power dating back more than 3,000 years, is now the vibrant capital of India. A city where the architectural legacies of the British Raj co-exist with ancient monuments, as well as modern day landmarks.

Qutub Minar, built between 1210 and 1235, is a 73 metre tall tower that marks the victory of Qutub-ud-din Aibak over the last Hindu kingdom.

Humayun's Tomb, built in 1570, made of red and white sandstone and surrounded by gardens and waterways is the exquisitely proportioned mausoleum of the Mughal Emperor Humayun.

Purana Qila is the 16th century grand old fort with its massive walls, gateways and gardens.

In Lutyen's New Delhi, India Gate, the stone arch of triumph erected in 1931 in memory of the Indian soldiers martyred in World War I, stands proud at one end of the royal boulevard, Rajpath. At the other end is the grand residence of the President of India, Rashtrapati Bhawan built in 1929. Nearby is the colonnaded business and commercial hub of Connaught Place.

Shahjahanabad is the 17th century walled city of Old Delhi. Guarded by the Red Fort built in 1648, its narrow alleys are dotted with countless landmarks including India's largest mosque Jama Masjid. The legendary marketplace of Chandni Chowk, packed with street food, silverware and jewellery.

Dilli Haat is the contemporary art and crafts market and food court that offers a wonderful collection of Indian handicraft.

Rajghat marks the final resting place of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. The setting is serene with a simple square platform of black marble set in beautiful gardens.
